[P6-7] How can the ICPC-3 classification support a brighter future for PHC?

Dr. K. (Kees) van Boven worked 32 year as a general practitioner in Franeker. He is the chair of the FaMe-Net, a practice based research network. In this network all encounters are classified with the International Classification of Primary Care (ICPC). Kees specialization is classification (ICPC, ICD and ICF) and he leads with Huib ten Napel the Consortium that develops the ICPC-3 in collaboration with the WONCA International Classification Committee. He combined his work as a GP since 1989 till 2013 with research at the University of Amsterdam, the Dutch College (NHG) and the Department of Primary and Community Care of the Radboud University. The focus of his research is “what are the reasons (RFE)” for entering health care and how can ICT in the field of medicine support the patient in self-management
