[15E-SIS13-07] Special Invited: Future Demands on Sustainability and Opportunities for PM

*L. Molin1 (1.Höganäs AB, Sweden)

キーワード:Sustainability, Powder metallurgy, CO2 reduction

The current development in society is not sustainable. Climate change, resource scarcity and social and economic inequality are examples of why society must change.Globally, there is a noticeable shift underway, and the number of lawmakers and companies committing to net-zero targets is growing. This presentation illustrates how the transition towards sustainability impacts the automotive industry, exploring both the challenges and opportunities for the Powder Metallurgy (PM) sector in that context. Höganäs has set ambitious climate targets for emissions and conducted research demonstrating that PM can represent a more sustainable choice compared to alternative technologies. However, facing dynamic competition, the PM industry must collaborate to enhance and showcase the value of metal powder solutions as the preferred option during this transitional phase.
