[16E-SIS14-03] Special Invited: Challenges and Future of Combinatorial Powder Material Exploration Technology in DX

*K. Fujimoto1 (1.Tokyo University of Science, Japan)

Keywords:Combinatorial Technology, High-throughput Materials exploration

In recent years, there have been an increasing number of cases where "data-driven research" and "informatics research" have been adopted into the materials exploration process, and DX efforts using high-throughput and autonomous experiments have also become more active. Although there is a wide variety of functional materials (active materials for batteries, solid electrolytes, catalysts, etc.) and morphologies (thin films, powders, glasses, etc.) to explore, this talk will focus on the exploration of functional multinary oxide powders leading to informatics research. Specifically, I will present the development of a robotic system for automated fabrication of powder libraries using liquid phase processes such as co-precipitation and electrostatic spray deposition, tools for high speed property evaluation, and a synchrotron X-ray powder diffraction tool, as well as examples of materials exploration and discuss future challenges.
