[15D-SIS4-03] Special Invited: Industry Trend and Sustainability Activities of MIM in Japan

The Metal Injection Molding (MIM) groups in Japan operate under the Japan Powder Metallurgy Association (JPMA) for industrial activities and under the Japan Society of Powder and Powder Metallurgy (JSPM) for academic activities. The JPMA MIM Committee is committed to carbon neutrality. They facilitate information exchange among member companies on their activities and initiatives, and collect data on greenhouse gas emissions. The JSPM MIM Group holds an annual meeting where researchers and developers present their latest research and development findings. They have recently been exploring new collaborations, such as information exchange with sinter-based additive manufacturing companies. This presentation will highlight the market trend of MIM in Japan and the sustainability efforts of these MIM groups.
