[15D-SIS5-02] Microstructural Evaluation of Cu-Al-Ni Shape Memory Alloys through Powder Injection Molding
キーワード:Shape Memory Alloys, Powder Injection Molding, Microstructural Evolution , Post Processing
In this study, Cu-12Al-4Ni (wt%) shape memory alloys were produced through powder injection molding, and their microstructural evaluation was analyzed. For this purpose, various feedstocks 64, 65 and 66 vol% were produced by mixing the powder mixture with a thermoplastic binder system based on praffin wax, high density polyethylene and stearic acid. According to their rheological behavior, the 64 vol% feedstock was chosen to produce green parts. The prepared green parts were solvent debound followed by thermal debinding and sintering. Finally, the sintered parts were annealed and water quenched to form the martensite phase, and then were characterized for their microstructure. The results show that β1 and γ1 martensite phases coexisted. The former possed zig-zag morphology, and the latter one had coarse variant.
