Nanocoating of sintering aid was implemented to improve the sinterability of lithium ion conductors. In this study, LiTa2PO8 (LTPO) an oxide solid electrolytes (SSE) with relatively high bulk Li ion conductivity, was selected and MgO was selected as a sintering aid component to synthesize LTPO-MgO core-shell particles. LTPO- MgO core-shell particle was prepared by chemical solution deposition process.
The relative density results show that the MgO coating improves the density, confirming that the sintering aid conponent is effective in inprovement the sintering properties of LTPO. As a result, the obtained result indicates nano-coating of the sintering aid on the core particle is effective to increase the sinterability without the segregation of the sintering aids.
