The intricate properties of metal powder premixes are significantly influenced by the careful selection of powder metallurgy lubricants, impacting both chemical composition and physical attributes, thereby shaping the flow characteristics of admixed powder. Environmental factors during critical phases such as mixing, transportation, and storage, as well as blending methodologies like ploughshare or tumbling blenders, notably affect powder flowability. An effective lubricant must preserve PM premix flow properties under diverse conditions, including elevated temperature, humidity, and high shear stress during blending. This study employs classical flowmeters and GranuDrum techniques to evaluate powder flowability, conducting assessments at room temperature and after storage in an environmental chamber exposed to heightened temperature and humidity. Additionally, a thorough analysis of die-filling characteristics for each lubricant is performed. The research evaluates the effectiveness of newly developed lubricants, aiming to elucidate their unique attributes and practical suitability within the PM domain.
