[15C-T1-20] Quantitative Flowability Evaluation Using the Die Filling Testing Device

Commonly flow rate (ISO 4490, JIS Z2502, MPIF 3) is used to evaluate powder flow. However, it may not be possible to measure flow rate because powder is not discharged from the orifice (No Flowability). Additionally, sometimes flow rate does not correspond to the actual production of parts such as productibility or weight variation. To address these issues, we conducted measurements on various powders to evaluate the flowability using the evaluation device which are close to the actual die filling of pressing machines. As a result, it was found that powders that were previously impossible to measure quantitatively due to "No Flowability" in conventional flow rate measurements can be evaluated using the evaluation device.
