[16C-T11-01] Keynote: Mass Production of High Accuracy and Thin-Wall Product for Electric VVT
キーワード:electric, Variable Valve Timing, VVT, CAE analysis, thermal analysis
As fuel efficiency regulations become stricter, Variable Valve Timing (VVT) systems are increasingly being changed from the conventional hydraulic types to electric types.
This product, which plays a core role in electric VVT systems, requires high precision, high hardness, and wear resistance.
In general, we perform carburizing and quenching to meet the requirements for high hardness.
However, since this product has a thin wall shape, the deterioration of accuracy due to thermal distortion becomes a problem.
Furthermore, additional distortion caused by the chuck during processing is a problem as well.
In response to these problems, we used CAE analysis and thermal analysis to develop the optimal processing method and heat treatment conditions.
In this paper, we will explain how the optimal conditions were developed.
