Photoemission electron microscopy (PEEM) is a kind of imaging technique, mainly utilized to analyze local elemental distribution and chemical state. In this paper, PEEM was applied to skutterudite-based thermoelectric material to investigate effect of composition and material processing. Sb M-edge and Co L-edge energy were selected for the analysis. The absorption spectra of these elements showed multiple absorption lines and some different chemical states in the materials. The obtained image showed that difference chemical states exist in several crystal grains. The relation between the imaging results and thermoelectric properties will be also presented in this paper.
