[14A-T2-06] Brazing Characteristics of Sintered Fe-Cu-C Alloy
Keywords:Brazing, Joining, Wettability, Pore, Microstructure
Brazed characteristics of sintered Fe-Cu-C alloy are investigated focusing on the effect of pores in the sintered on the wettability and penetration of filler metals and the formation of brazed microstructure. Experiments are conducted using various filler metals including commercial Ag-based alloys and Cu-based alloys. The wetting and spreading behaviors of the brazing fillers on the surface of the sintered compacts and brazing gaps, and the penetration of molten filler metal into the porous surface are examined. The result showed that the penetration of the filler metal into the pores hindered the brazed spread. The relation between the wetting and penetration is discussed based on the effect of alloy elements in the filler metals on the interfacial reaction.
