Stainless steel has excellent mechanical properties and corrosion resistance, so it is used in a wide range of applications.
However, since stainless steel is a material that is difficult to cut, it is hard to form small diameter and deep holes that are difficult to cut., Additionally, sintered stainless steel has limited uses as it cannot be used in applications that require airtightness due to the presence of pores inside the material. In order to reduce internal pores, a method of increasing density using liquid phase sintering is being considered, but the amount of shrinkage is large and has a large impact on dimensional accuracy and post-processing after sintering. In order to solve the above-mentioned problems, we investigated a high-density compact processing method that combines a method of increasing density during powder compaction and a method of processing during molding, and we will report on this.
