[14A-T2-10] Development of High-Precision Parts for New Mechanism Semi-Active Suspension

Keywords:semi-active suspension, CAE analysis, 3D measurement

We received a request to develop a piston and pilot case for a new semi-active suspension with a built-in damping force control valve, and each part required high sealing performance and rigidity because the built-in valve mechanism is subject to high internal pressure. A combination piston was adopted due to the port specifications, but there were concerns about the sealing performance.Complicated oil passages were arranged on the seat surface, so pressure resistance was also a concern.Furthermore, the pilot case has a complicated seat surface shape, so ensuring flatness was another issue. We overcame these issues by setting appropriate conditions through correctly evaluating the performance using CAE analysis and 3D measurements. In this paper, we will report on the development process, which started with re-examining the materials and setting appropriate conditions.
