Porous materials, when applied in batteries, require not only functional pores but also a certain level of mechanical strength. Therefore, this experiment attempts to add varying proportions of iron phosphide in the iron slurry, employing a tape casting process to produce thin porous iron-phosphorus sheet. We compare the characteristics (sintering shrinkage, porosity, microstructure, resistance, etc.) and mechanical strength of the samples manifested due to different phosphorus content. In the experiment, we control the phosphorus ratio in the iron-phosphorus mixture within the range of 0wt% to 1.5wt% and manufacture samples with thicknesses ranging from 0.3mm to 0.6mm. During the 1120°C sintering process, the addition of trace amounts of phosphorus enables the samples to achieve liquid-phase sintering conditions. The experimental results indicate that a higher proportion of phosphorus significantly enhances mechanical strength, while having almost no impact on porosity.
