[15P-T12-01] Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of High-Strength Tool Steels
Keywords:High strength tool steels, Heat treatment processes, AISI D2, Microstructure, Hardness
In order to develop automotive parts with excellent mechanical properties, it is necessary to systematically understand and optimize the microstructure transformation mechanism according to the various heat treatment processes of high-strength tool steels. In this study, we attempted to manufacture high-strength tool steels by applying various heat treatment processes used in additive manufacturing processes using high-strength tool steel with a carbon content of 1.5% or more. This high-carbon and high-strength tool steels were manufactured by controlling the content of alloying elements such as C, Cr, Mn, and Mo. Specimens were manufactured through various heat treatments such as rapid cooling, heat treatment, and slow cooling processes, and their microstructure was analyzed. The correlation between microstructure and mechanical properties was investigated.
