We compared diffraction characteristics of ferroelectric liquid crystal (FLC) and nematic liquid crystal (NLC) devices with one-dimensional stripe pattern of 1-10μm pixel-pitch.
1st-order diffraction efficiency of the FLC with low-crosstalk was much larger than that of the NLC for less than 2μm pixel-pitch, indicating FLC’s better potential for holographic application.
