Gd₃Al₂Ga₃O₁₂:Ce (GAGG;Ce) shows persisitent phosphorescence. This feature is closely connected to the formation of shallow electron traps. In the present study, the nature of shallow electron traps in GAGG:Ce was investigated using various spectroscopy experiments.
