Health Insurance Claim Information and Specified Medical Checkups, NDB, Secondary Use

The use of big data in the National Database (NDB), which comprises nationwide medical claims data and specific health checkup data, holds great promise for the accumulation of evidence for healthcare reform to improve healthcare quality and cost containment. This presentation is aimed to present the experience and results of utilizing the High-Speed Interdisciplinary Medical Claims Data Research infrastructure and to offer materials for discussing future research developments. It is desirable to further promote the creation of findings from big data by expanding the utilization of findings through openness, establishing research protocols, and further advancing the direction of analysis planning support as a means to improve the efficiency of the entire research workflow.
