[2-F-2-01] Revision of “Guidance on Safe and Secure Radio Wave Utilization in Medical Institutions” and other activities by The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC)
Radio wave use, Wireless LAN, Wireless medical telemetry system
The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) is working to ensure the safe and secure use of radio waves in medical institutions in order to respond to the widespread use of devices that use radio waves in medical institutions. MIC, together with the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare (MHLW), conducts a medical institution questionnaire survey and technical verification at the Electromagnetic Compatibility Conference Japan (EMCC)in order to study measures to use of radio waves safety. In addition, MIC has been conducted publicity activities to medical institutions in each region and cooperates with MHLW to support publicity activities to related organizations. In July 2021, EMCC released the Revised Edition of “Guidance on Safe and Secure Radio Wave Utilization in Medical Institutions” (hereafter referred to as the “Guidance”). The revised edition of the Guidance provides information in as easy-to-understand a manner as possible. It focuses on Trouble case and countermeasure with equipment that uses radio waves (wireless medical telemetry, wireless LAN, cell phones, and other equipment), and safety management system for use of radio waves in medical institutions. Through this symposium, we hope that safety operation methods will be widely recognized, and that the quality and efficiency of medical care will advance further.
