Considering the three phases of introduction, maintenance, and updating of a medical information system involving pharmaceuticals, in many cases, once the introduction is completed, some inconveniences and problems can be resolved by "getting used to it." However, if we do not unify the basic way of thinking and take a fundamental solution, it may develop into a medical accident. The development of the medical information system began with the aim of improving the efficiency of medical care, and the current system is still in operation thanks to the ingenuity of many people. However, even now that electronic medical records have become widespread, drug-related medical accidents have not been eradicated. Also, with task shifting becoming a hot topic these days, do medical information systems really contribute to operational efficiency? In the future, the waves of computerization related to drugs will surge one after another, such as electronic prescriptions, online qualification confirmation, electronic package inserts, and the spread of PHR. Now is the time to stop and think about what kind of perspective pharmacists have to tackle in the future. In this session, we will discuss how medical information systems related to drugs in medical DX should be and expectations for pharmacists.
