Okayama University has signed an agreement with Kibichuo Town, which was designated as first National Strategic Special Zone for innovative business collaboration in Japan. “Achieving Regulatory Reform with Vision for a Digital Garden City Nation.” on April 12, 2022, for collaboration and cooperation to achieve broad-based regional development and human resource development and the SDGs. Through the use of digital technology, the agreement aims to build a "pioneering model for solving regional issues" by solving problems faced by regions in Japan in the medical and health fields (expansion of the roles of paramedics and nurses, support services to promote maternal and child health, and linking medical, health, and drug management information with the My Number system) through regulatory reforms. The role of the special zones is to create a "pioneering model in resolving regional issues" by solving these issues through regulatory reform. These municipalities are expected to promote the common use of medical information networks with different providers, etc., break down the stove-piped system of medical care and administration, and correct inadequacies in data sharing. We are determined to contribute to the creation of a safe and secure city where no one is left behind through an all- Okayama University system that makes full use of new "comprehensive knowledge" that fuses "specialized knowledge" and strong industry-academia-government collaboration.
