[2-C-4-03] From the perspective of the Japanese Online system for Standardized Log of Evaluation and Registration of internal medicine specialty training system: J-OSLER

J-OSLER is an online system that records bidirectional training experience, including case registration, medical history summary, technique and skill, trainee evaluation, mentor evaluation, multidisciplinary evaluation, and program evaluation. Through J-OSLER, the training status between trainees and mentors can be visualized, allowing for standardization, transparency, and quality assurance of internal medicine specialty training. In case registration, trainees register their experiences as the primary physician for cases, including brief summaries of medical experiences and self-reflections on medical and social aspects. After registration, the assigned mentor for evaluation can immediately understand areas needing improvement and, through formative evaluation and guidance, provide insights to the trainee, ensuring effective and appropriate subsequent training and learning. Based on approved case registration, trainees register medical history summaries on J-OSLER. Medical history summaries demonstrate that the medical experiences recorded as the primary physician for cases at internal medicine specialty training facilities are appropriate for the training. These summaries are registered under the formative guidance of mentors and are designed to provide evidence to third parties. Trainees use medical records and discharge summaries from their affiliated medical institutions to register cases and medical history summaries. However, due to security policies at these institutions, trainees need to input data each time. The utilization of standardized medical summaries is expected to enhance the convenience of case registration and case summary registration in internal medicine specialty training for trainees.
