[2-E-4-03] Digital Transformation in Medical Field and Medical/Healthcare ICT

The Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers (IEICE) Technical Committee Healthcare and Medical Information Communication Technology (MICT) was founded in 2006 as a Time-limited Technical Committee on healthcare and medical ICT. It has played an important role in research and development for healthcare and medical engineering fusion field and its standardization of global business. It has become widely recognized in academia, industry, and government/administrative organizations. Subsequently, in 2014, the current Technical Committee MICT was established. Currently, Technical Committee MICT is aiming for further development by leveraging the results of past research and development, human resource development, standardization, etc. At the same time, Technical Committee MICT is engaged in activities such as research and development and international standardization that contribute Active Assisted Living (AAL) , which will play an important role in Society 5.0.
It is important to further deepen our collaboration with the Japan Association for Medical Informatics (JAMI) and jointly strengthen new research areas related to future medical DX. In this session, the activities of the Technical Committee MICT to date is introduced and the importance of strengthening collaboration with JAMI is discussed.
