For sharing allergen information between hospitals and for more advanced utilization, a standardized allergen terminology is essential. In Japan, although the JAHIS basic dataset application guidelines define 8 types of classification codes, such as food allergies and drug allergies, they do not include specific allergens, and thus do not meet the clinical information registration needs. Moreover, while terminologies developed outside Japan, such as SNOMED-CT and ICD-11, do contain more specific allergens, they have problems such as a lack of terms related to foods unique to Japan. In this presentation, we will discuss the JFAGY allergen terminology that we have developed and the HL-7 FHIR JP Core AllergyIntolerance profile that utilizes it.
