[SC-A-03] Solid Phase Reactions of Active Materials of Lithium Ion Battery

Z. Ogumi (Kyoto Univ. (Japan))

Lithium-ion battery is one of key devices for clean energy systems including vehicles. The reactions of positive and negative electrodes are not completely understood. Solid-phase reactions of LiFePO4 are focused as an example of positive electrodes, which may contribute to improvement of battery performances. Detected non-equilibrium behaviors of LiFePO4 during charge-discharge lead to understanding of phase transition process in solid phase.
