[H-7-02] Compact passive waveguides using mosaic-based device with triangular lattice photonic crystal-like structure

We propose the triangular lattice photonic-crystal-like mosaic-based devices for ultra-compact Si-photonic devices. As the demonstration, we design and fabricate 1×2 power splitters with arbitrary split ratio and 4-channel wavelength demultiplexers for CWDM. The power splitters show split ratio as designed with the small excess loss of 0.5 dB on the size of 2.4 × 2.4 μm2, and the wavelength demultiplexer property is also indicated using three mosaic-based splitters on the size of 7.5 × 17.2 μm2.
