This paper presents a high-accuracy time-of-flight (ToF) image sensor using cascaded 4-Tap demodulators and a new operation using dual-phase short-pulse modulation. A 4-Tap demodulator with cascaded structure achieving high-speed demodulation with a relatively small pixel pitch of 8.4 µm is successfully designed and implemented. Measurement results show that the proposed demodulator using dual-phase short-pulse modulation have high absolute accuracy of better than 4% of error of the segmented range (100cm) without any calibrations in range-shifted ToF measurements.
