[PS-12-02] A Reconfigurable Low-Power Current Mode Computing near Sensor Element for Edge Detection
Abstract A current mode computing near sensor element with implementation of multiply and accumulation (MAC) operation is proposed. Compared to voltage mode processors, the proposed current mode elements can work at low supply voltage and thus consume less power. A weight-flipping method is adopted to save power. A prototype is implemented in a 0.18-μm process. Based on the measurements, more than 32 percent of the power was reduced.
