The objective of this study was to find conditions under which the thermal conductivity of UO2 pellets with a diameter of 10mm can be measured using the Hot Disk method. Therefore aluminum oxide (Al2O3) and yttria stabilized zirconia (YSZ) with different thermal conductivities were used to investigate the variation of the measured values with sensor diameter, heating power, etc.
