The objective of this study was to find conditions under which the thermal conductivity of UO₂ pellets with a diameter of 10mm can be measured using the Hot Disk method. Therefore aluminum oxide (Al₂O₃) and yttria stabilized zirconia (YSZ) with different thermal conductivities were used to investigate the variation of the measured values with sensor diameter, heating power, etc.
