From urban planning to the process of urban park construction, the area of green space park per capita is often used as an evaluation criterion for the quality of public space. But a large area of park is not equal to a good park. The confusion of goal orientation under this planning clause leads to problems such as poor spatial quality and insufficient urban vitality.
The fundamental problem is that abstract zoning results are difficult to translate into concrete urban design results.
Here we try to find more connections between urban planning indicators and human needs for public space, to improve the fit between public space and users, and to improve the content of urban design guidelines.
Nowadays. The research and development of architectural behavior science. Provides theoretical support to solve this problem. It has become a practical design idea in some small design projects. And computer simulation software. brings the possibility of applying this idea to a larger scale.
In this paper we try to discuss new ways of perceiving the city, the connection and difference between individual and public needs in the city, and the principles of urban design in a behavioral perspective.
Urban research from a behavioral perspective can greatly improve the comfort of external urban spaces, promote social activities of people, and enhance urban vitality. It is valuable today when intensive development is becoming the mainstay.
