It is necessary that Earth science and geography education for elementary and high school arranges the opportunity to touch the real things. In elementary school, there are many classes to touch the real things, but in high school, we don't have enough time to explain with them. I think that education with using the real thing, understanding of the learning purpose of the student, and knowledge of teacher to answer student's questions.
At first, the earth and planetary science needs to use the knowledge not only sciense but also various information. The students are good at considering and discussion with the real things, but it is difficult to understand conceptually field. So, we should present the real things to the students.
Secondly, it is necessary to understand a learning purpose so that a student is interested. The students like to study outdoor, and understand that studying the earth science contribute to thier lives, such as disaster prevention.
Thirdly, it is important to have the ability that teachers assist for the students to practice deep learning. It is necessary that teachers answer their questions, and lead them to understand.
From these, I think that we should teach earth and planet science practically and more clearly. It is improvement of the individual ability of the teacher to be important above all. Even if it is difficult to become the expert of all fields of earth science, the geography, it is important to deepen the knowledge. It is good for an opportunity attracting the interest of the student to teach the state-of-the-art study and common sense. I hope that practically and developmental earth and planetary science education become popular in the future.
