[2A08] Reductive amination of 5-formyl-2-furancarboxylic acid to 5-(aminomethyl)furan-2-carboxylic acid

A Co2P nanorods catalyst promoted the reductive amination of 5-formyl-2-furancarboxylic acid to 5-(aminomethyl)furan-2-carboxylic acid (AMFCA) for biomass-based polyamide. The reaction in methanol-water mixture using Co2P and NH4OAc under 5 bar of H2 provided AMFCA in 95% yield.
