A numerical prediction model for the calculation of mercury partitioning in natural gas processing facility was considered and established as the technology to contribute proper handling of small amount of mercury in natural gas and oil. In the construction of the prediction model, at first, mercury solubility in natural gas components and chemicals which are used for gas processing was measured by lab experiment. Then, tuning of parameters in the prediction model based on equation of state was conducted by using measured mercury solubility data. As a result, it was found that the prediction model could properly reproduce mercury contents in the production process which mainly processes hydrocarbons.
