We fabricated an optically transparent monopole antenna using the graphene film with a low sheet resistance (80 Ω/sq) and a high optical transmittance (over 90%) and investigated the characteristics of the film as an electrode material for transparent antennas. We demonstrated that the graphene film behaved similarly to metal. Moreover, the radiation efficiency of the graphene monopole antenna was measured to be 52.5% at 9.8 GHz, corresponding to the half of that of metal antennas.
