In the terahertz time-domain spectroscopic system (THz-TDS), a femtosecond pulse laser is usually employed as an irradiation source. A low-cost system in the sub-THz region can be constructed by employing a multimode laser diode (MLD) instead of the femtosecond pulse laser. The signal spectrum can be continuous if we employ a broad-area laser diode, a kind of an MLD, with a single-mode optical fiber or a spatial filter. To characterize a small sample or a small part of an inhomogeneous large sample with this system, we must set the sample on a sample holder with a small hole and put them at the focus of the converging sub-THz radiation as in the case of the ordinary THz-TDS. In this study, we consider the analyzing method of the data obtained in such a measurement.
