[17p-Z09-6] Manipulation and observation of cells and tissues using scanning ion conductance microscopy

Futoshi Iwata1 (1.Shizuoka Univ.)

Keywords:Scanning ion conductance microscope, Manipulation

Scanning Ion Conductance Microscope (SICM) obtains sample surface topography at nanoscale resolution in a liquid environment. SICM uses a glass capillary (nanopipette) to image the sample surface by detecting the ion current near the sample surface. SICM is widely used for observing biological samples due to the low interaction between the probe and surface. In this presentation, we will introduce not only the imaging methods but also the manipulation methods as a multi functionalization of the SICM technology we have developed.
