We are studying a mid-infrared superconducting hot electron bolometer (MIR-HEB) that uses an antenna for the photo-detector coupling method with the aim of improving the response characteristics and functions of the photodetector in the mid-infrared region. This time, we conducted a trial evaluation as a mid-infrared photon detector, and observed that the counting speed of the output voltage pulse from MIR-HEB increased as the incident weak mid-infrared photopower increased.
