[18a-Z09-6] Terahertz wave emission properties of GaAs crystal Inserted in a metallic tapered parallel plate waveguide

The terahertz radiation from gallium arsenide (GaAs) was studied by inserting it into a metal tapered parallel plate waveguide (TPPWG) to improve the directionality of the radiation wave. We measured the intensity of terahertz radiation from a bulk crystal and a 0.1 mm thick crystal inserted into a tapered waveguide. The measurement results showed that the signal intensity increased due to the suppression of the radiation angle by themetal taper.
