[18a-Z10-2] Relationship between cavity size and mode coupling for Penrose microcavities

Takehiro Fukushima1, Yuuki Touyama1 (1.Okayama Pref. Univ.)

Keywords:microcavity, cavity modes, mode coupling

Ray-wave correspondence in two-dimensional optical microcavities is an interesting research topic from a view point of fundamental physics. We studied the dependence of the mode coupling on the cavity size for Penrose unilluminable room microcavities based on the numerical calculation based on the finite element method. We found that the strength of the mode coupling decreases as the cavity size increases.
