Keywords:plasma, sterilization, Plant nutrient solution

In plant factories, hydroponic cultivation is the mainstream, and sterilization of the nutrient solution is indispensable because bacteria and viruses spread rapidly when they enter the nutrient solution. Recently, UV-LED has been attracting attention as a disinfection technology for nutrient solution, but the reduction of iron ion concentration in nutrient solution is a problem. In this study, we focused on the atmospheric-pressure low-temperature air plasma jet irradiation, and reported that the plasma jet irradiation was superior in sterilizing plant nutrient solution without changing the iron concentration. In addition, atmospheric-pressure low-temperature nitrogen plasma jet irradiation was also used for comparison.
