A tandem solar cell composed of pn junctions with different absorption bands can obtain high efficiency by using effectively the solar spectrum. Conventional tandem solar cells composed of the subcells connected in series, which requires current matching between the subcells. To overcome current matching constraints, a three-terminal or four-terminal tandem solar cells that do not require current matching between the subcells have attracted attentions. In this study, we evaluated the performance of a three-terminal tandem solar cell fabricated using a back-contact-type silicon solar cell as a bottom cell.
