Keywords:Abandoned agricultural land, Microbial Fuel Cell, Flame oxidized stainless steel, Iron powder, Activated carbon, Electrode

This study examines the possibility of effective utilization of abandoned farmland, which is increasing year by year due to the decrease of farmers, and electric power supply such as electronic equipment necessary for smart agriculture.
As a result of the experiment, flame oxidation stainless steel net, iron powder and activated carbon showed remarkably high power generation performance as an anode electrode of power generation by microorganisms with power generation ability living in the soil.
It’s suggested that these materials are comparatively cheap and have little effect on soil, and that they can be reused as refreshment materials in re-cultivation of fallow paddy fields.
