[3Aa09] Terahertz functional devices using semiconductor two-dimensional plasmons and their applications to the next-gen beyond 5G wireless communications

The core radio frequency band for the next generation Beyond 5G (B5G) will approach the terahertz band. However, conventional electronic and photonic devices are extremely difficult to operate in the terahertz band due to their substantial physical limitations. In this presentation, we introduce the state-of-the-art research on terahertz functional devices based on semiconductor two-dimensional plasmons as a new operating principle, which is expected to be a breakthrough, and their application to the B5G wireless communication.
