(2) Progress on R&D for liquid lithium target loop of A-FNS

In A-FNS, a flat and stable liquid lithium target loop with high velocity of 15 m/s is required. It is necessary for the design of the liquid lithium target loop to develop the purification system in the liquid lithium loop, to evaluate the corrosion and erosion of the target, and to research the safety handling. We are implementing the R&D under the IFMIF/EVEDA project for (1) the validation of lithium purification system, (2) the lithium target diagnostics, (3) the material analysis used in the IFMIF/EVEDA Lithium Test Loop, (4) the stabilization method of used lithium including tritium, (5) countermeasures against lithium fire, and (6) impurities monitors for lithium. We will mainly present progress on development of purification system.
