Keywords:Diogenite, Silica minerals

We investigated silica minerals in diogenite meteorites, which are considered to be derived from the crustal material of differentiated asteroids (probably Vesta). We identified quartz, (PO-, MC-) tridymite, and cristobalite in diogenite using cathodoluminescence imaging methods and micro-Raman spectroscopy. The occurrence of these silica minerals is closely related to the petrological features of the diogenite. In this presentation, I will explain the metamorphic history of the diogenite suggested by the occurrence of silica minerals.
