In the past few decades, hydraulic tomography (HT) has been developed and successfully applied to many field sites to delineate the spatial distributions of hydraulic properties (e.g., transmissivity (T) and storage coefficient (S)). Numerous studies used HT to investigate hydraulic properties, only using the test data of the current year for analysis when discussing the same study area hydraulic properties distribution. There is no comparison of test data collected using the same test method for multiple years in the same study area to estimate the hydraulic properties. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to (1) use multiple annual pumping test data to investigate the reproducibility of the drawdown-time data; (2) use multiple annual pumping test data to characterize the reproducibility of the heterogeneous hydraulic properties and (3) Whether the distribution of hydraulic properties will change over time.
The study used four sequential pumping tests (SPT) to collect pumping rates and drawdown data at the National Yunlin University of Science and Technology in 2010, 2012, 2013, and 2018. Using 4 SPTs with different pumping rate and drawdown data to analyze normalized time (time divided by the square of the distance between the pumping well and the observation well) and normalized drawdown (drawdown divided by per unit pumping rate). Then, use the HT to delineate four years 2-dimensional heterogeneous hydraulic properties distribution field and analyze the relationship between the spatial distribution characteristics of the reproducibility of heterogeneous hydraulic properties and time.
