Radiophotoluminescence (RPL) is a radiation-induced phenomenon which creates new phtoluminescence (PL) centres by irradiation. RPL is a relatively new phenomenon compared to conventional TSL and OSL, and not many materials showing RPL are recognized. In this study, we have synthesized CsBr:0.2%Sm crystal by a Bridgeman technique, and we have found that it shows RPL. The PL emission due to RPL is observed at longer wavelengths than 650 nm, and detectable dose range confirmed is 1-10000 mGy.
