We have examined an ultrasonic velocity-change method for determining the stability of vascular plaque. In the previous report, the temperature resolution in the UVC method was studied in detail. In this report, we show that fat area in a carotid artery phantom can be detected by effectively suppressing the influence of heartbeats using UVC images obtained between adjacent B-mode images.
