In recent years, research has been actively conducted to improve the efficiency of ultraviolet LEDs, which have a wide range of applications such as sterilization and skin treatment. In this study, we focused on ZnO, which has a high exciton binding energy among semiconductors with a band gap in the ultraviolet region, and is a promising material for LEDs. Specifically, we attempted to enhance the UV emission by surfece plasmon(SP) resonance using metal thin films. We also theoretically discussed the enhancement effect by calculating the SP dispersion curves for Ag, Al and Ga.
