[16a-Z19-2] Study on biaxial alignment of a high-temperature superconductor DyBa2Cu3O7 using in situ X-ray diffraction measurements under modulated rotating magnetic fields II
Keywords:magnetic orientation, High critical temperature superconductor, magnetic susceptibility anisotropy
Microcrystals of REBa2Cu3Oy (y = 6 to 7, RE123), which is a superconducting ceramic with a high critical temperature, can be biaxially oriented by a magnetic field, because the crystal system of RE123 is an orthorhombic system. By investigating the conditions for achieving biaxial orientation of RE123 under the magnetic field, the alignment materials will be used for many applications. In situ X-ray diffraction measurement is performed by applying a modulated rotating magnetic field to the suspension of Dy123 microcrystals with changing in rotation speeds. In this study, we report on the orientation process of Dy123 microcrystals.
